Here's my second foray into the shareware font scene. It's called Alien Language. The idea is to have a font that would be used by--you guessed it--an alien race. It would be a cool typeface for one of those Star Trek alien computer terminals, I think. Each character in the font (except for punctuation) is roughly a square with rounded corners and a series of dots. Thus, each character is the same size. When words are written, the characters blend together at the sides to give the impression of a complex, sort-of Arabesque pattern.
Only the main character set, the numbers, and the question mark and period are included, plus a splashscreen character at the (Macintosh) OPTION-SHIFT-M location. There is no difference between the shifted and unshifted characters, except between the 1 and ! symbols.
Other fonts by me:
1. Tengwar-Gandalf 2.0 (stylized rendition of J.R.R. Tolkien's elvish script)
2. CropCircle (due summer 1995; will be another "alien language" with symbols reminiscent of the crop circles in England)
THIS FONT IS SHAREWARE--or at least, postcardware. Just send me a post card from your city/town; or, if you live outside the USA, just drop me an e-mail and let me know what you think.
CONVERSION: This font may be converted to any other font format on any computer platform without restriction, as long as a complete copy of this documentation is included (with an addition explaining who did the conversion, and to what format). This would include conversion to the PostScript Type 1 and Type 3 formats for either PCs or Macs, TrueType for PCs, or any NeXT format. Conversion of the font to another format will not change its copyright.
DISTRIBUTION: This font may be freely distributed by electronic means. This means that anyone may upload it to or download it from any BBS or online service which charges for only normal connect fees. Permission for inclusion of this font on the AMUG (Arizona Macintosh User Group) BBS In A Box CD-ROMs is hereby given. Permission for inclusion on any other distribution, i.e. floppy or other CD-ROM, is prohibited without the express consent of the author, Dr. Michael S. Elliott.
